Killa’ Cam Hildreth Shows Out In Surrey Debut!

Updated: Dec 1, 2021

Yesterday saw the debut of young British phenom Cameron Hildreth with BBL side Surrey Scorchers. The Wake Forest Commit played in the BBL trophy for Surrey and looked very comfortable on the floor.

Hildreth had been training with the Scorchers a little while prior to the matchup against TVC, and it showed with the how comfortable he seemed in Surrey’s offensive sets. Cameron dropped 22 points in 23 minutes on impressive shooting, 60% from the field and 50% from the three. Hildreth credits this to how warming and welcoming the Scorchers were on his arrival.

”I mean, being out there with a new team & new structure was going to be a challenge however, all the guys on the team are super nice and have helped me a lot to get on the same page ready for today’s game. I love competing and love the way Surrey play. It was a pleasure and can’t wait for tomorrow’s game."

He also sealed the win sinking the game winning jumper after TVC’s Johnson’s clutch three pointer to take a 1 point lead with 4 seconds remaining. What many didn‘t know is that there was added fuel to this game winner and overall performance as in a game prior against the Cavaliers, Hildreth missed a late shot and was told by a Cavalier that he wasn’t ready for America. Which then made hitting the game winner even more sweeter.

The Scorchers are set to matchup against the Bristol Flyers today at 5pm in a second game of a double header this weekend. One thing is for sure, all eyes will be on Hildreth as he continues to write more history before he leaves to Wake Forest next season.
